If I were to get a luxury car, let's say something from BMW or Benz, how would that

affect maintenance fees? I think I am going to get a used BMW or Benz, probably around 20,000 dollars. I am wondering how greatly that would affect things like my insurance and other fees, and I heard it costs a lot more (can you give me a number or rough estimate) to maintain it compared to something like a Camry. I plan on buying a 4-door sedan.
Also I heard those two do 5 year free servicing, is that true? If I were to buy a used car from someone who had bought their car 1 year ago, would those 4 years that are left transfer over to me? Thanks for any help.
And if they are really expensive what's a good car to get on a $20,000 budget?

A Camry wouldn't be much more to fix than a domestic but a BMW and Benz are much more in some cases. At my fathers garage I once changed brakes on a 1992 BMW and the brakes themselves cost $75 because of a brake wear sensor. Insurance would also be more just because of the increased cost to fix and are more likely to be stolen.
