If Jesus really fulfilled "all" the prophecies of the Messiah, then why doesn't...

...the NT mention Elijah? One of the signs of the coming of the Messiah was the return of Elijah, so why doesn't the NT mention his return?

For that matter, why do all this lists of prophecies that Jesus allegedly fulfilled never seem to include the return of Elijah?
