most countries have a landslide majority of a particular religion? most people have the same religion as their parents, which could account for this phenomenon. if religion/creed was a matter of an individuals unbiased opinion or 'what their heart tells them is true' wouldnt the worlds religions be found everywhere as a vast melting pot of varying belief, instead of being so localized? eh- i didnt word it that great but i think you'll get what i'm asking :)
