If the government wants to make budget cuts, why dont they cut military spending

since it is so out of control? Seriously, the government wants to cut a couple billion here and a couple billion there which is basically meaningless in terms of progress when you are talking about trillions of dollars. I mean, we are spending hundred of billions of dollars on military spending when that is really not necessary. Don't people realize how costly and inefficient it is to be spending hundred of billions of dollars every year on wars that have led to little to no progress and doesn't guarantee any more safety for Americans? It doesn't even seem cutting military (defense) spending is even in the cards right now, I don't get it. Why do you think that the government refuses to cut military spending when it is taking up a gigantic part of the budget and is one of the main reasons we had to borrow so much money from other countries??
