anti-semitism and how you deal with it? im very interested in obtaining all the knowledge or advice i can receive. please also make it relevant to todays U.S. society. maybe in the future i may have to deal with the same thing.
melkha -im converting bc i had this dream a while ago. and i started studying and i decided this was the right thing to do. ive never been religious. but i felt my life is changing for the better when i first started and i met my rabbi for the first time he was very calm and welcoming and the people were not as hypocritical as christianity (no offense to christians). and it allows for education.

You see? Booyah is the prime example of the frackn trolls out there thinking that Christianity is better. When confronted with someone like that I just ask why they celebrate their “saviours” birthday on the winter solstice? A fact of history that it is IMPOSSIBLE for Jesus to have been born on that day. Just laugh at their misguided fairytales... but respect their freedom to believe in what they want. I personally hold no allegiance to any religion, but do try to be tolerant towards most (hard to do with those cocky Christians though).

I'm a convert to Judaism, too.

I live in the US, in a relatively liberal part of the country, so my experience with anti-Semitism has been virtually nil.

The only two people who reacted somewhat "coolly" to my conversion - not outwardly anti-Semitic, mind you - were Christian. Two are evangelical Christians, and one is a Serbian Orthodox.

Fortunately, the only anti-Semitism I see is online, from trolls and the like.
