R RoseD Member May 24, 2013 #2 There have been a lot of works by Stanislaw Lem on sale lately, as well as Philip K Dick. You'd probably like both of them. And it's more modern, but try John Scalzi. His Old Man's War series is good, as are Redshirts and Android's Dream.

David Weber's Honor Harrington series is on Kindle. They have a special on Andre Norton books. There is a 12 pack available for 99 cents! I highly recommend Jim Butcher's Dresden books. They are about a wizard who lives in Chicago.
