I have no idea what to do so I'm hoping someone can advise me on what I need and how to hook it up. Right now I only have the stock car speakers and crappy am/fm stereo. I have a pair of Dual brand bass speakers and a good stereo but have no idea what to do with them or what else to get. Do I need tweeters and midrange?

If you're not handy with tools and DIY stuff for cars, the only way it's going to come out okay is to buy a system and let the place you bought it from install it. I have no idea what kind of music you like or how you listen to it, so you are going ot have to use your judgement when you look at different systems, keeping in mind the people who sell them usually think more power and louder always = better. (Unfortnately it also = more $$.)

If you don't listen to music especially loud, a system with as little as 10w per channel is fine, and unless you really like to feel bass you don't need a subwoofer. You could probably get away with a head unit (the thing in the dashboard) that has an amplifier already attached to it, as opposed to better systems which have separate amplifiers that get mounted in the trunk or under the seat.

Well theres not much I can tell you since you didnt say what kind of car its going in.(van, pickup, hatch back,sedan...)
Do you mean subwoofers when you say bass speakers,if so then you need enclosures for then.Dont cheap out and get plastic one,you could even build them you self out of nice 1/2-3/4 inch oak. This gives you the bass or bumping.I use JBL speakers my self so I can say if duel is good or not.Your going to need an amp to power these speakers and a quility CD player. If you just want the base you can keep th stock speakers,if you want the whole system to be louder you will need mid range and tweeters.
