I was wondering if you would recommend paying for a shore excursion? Some of them are kind of pricey and we are on a budget but I'm trying to make this trip a really fun trip. theres just 2 of us and we are going to the bahamas on a 3 day cruise on the monarch of seas. And if you have anything else you want to recommend its very much appreciated!

Shore excursions can really help make a trip great. I strongly recommend only doing your excursions through the cruise line for a number of reasons. For the Bahamas Atlantis is a good one (there are several options) it's an expensive place but even more expensive to stay at to experience it. Also swimming with the dolphins is very popular.
If you are going to do some book the ones you know you want ahead of time through royalcaribbean.com that way you don't have to worry about the space filling up and missing out and you can avoid the long lines on the ship to sign up.
If you're not sure then you can wait and talk to other passengers on the ship - chances are many of them have been there/done that and can give you great recommendations.
Of course, you can always just stay on the ship and have the whole thing pretty much to yourself - for some people that's the best part of the cruise! :)
