car rides and has made this? trip before. She was however a baby (6 months), now she's 4-1/2 yrs old. I have a big cage for her at home and a sleeper cage which is smaller in size but big enough to spread her wings. I set it up just like her big cage. My question: At home she's out of the cage most of the time. On vacation she'll spend a considerable amount of time in the cage. She adapts well to things, do you think she'll be ok with this? I have no-one I would trust to watch her at home and she gets very sad and lonely when we're away.

Her at home cage is this: http://www.bird-cage.com/bird-cages/kasterra-dome-top-bird-cage/

My Grey loves car rides, too. I bought one of those window perches you can stick to glass and let him sit on that most of the time.
Bring snacks that are also hydrating like fruit (and crackers, apples, nuts...things she likes). Foot toys are good, too.

As for her actually being on vacation with you...if it were her big cage she were spending lots of time in with lots of toys and whatnot, that'd prob be okay, but it wouldn't be good for her to spend a lot of time alone in a travel/sleeper cage. She also shouldn't be left alone too much in strange environments...she'll probably adjust to it well if you are there with her, though.

Good luck, have fun.
