It is an illustrated children's book that I had when I was little. I don't remember much about the book, but here is what I do remember.
1. Everything in the mouse world was peaceful but then an evil mouse began to enforce martial law on the entire land.
2. Some of the mice were forced to work in labor camps, others were trained to become a part of the evil military.
3. They were forced to eat a nasty soup-like food.
4. The mice lived in mushroom houses.
5. There was some sort of wall built. I don't remember the significance of the wall.
6. The mice drove tanks and had very large, very cartoon-like guns.
7. The art style was very distinct. Every illustration had a very strong red hue to it. There was no color that I remember other than the red. Almost like gray-scale illustrations with red instead of black.
I loved this book when I was little and would like to purchase it, but I can't remember enough information to find it with simple Google searches. I appreciate any help that anyone could give me, specifically the title and author of the book. Thanks.
Through further Google searches I found a book by Dr. Suess called "The Butter Battle Book" which seems very, very similar to the book I'm looking for but isn't quite right. Hope this helped.
