Importing the Motorola Atrix phone from USA to Australia?

HI,

I'm going to America for a holiday, and was wondering if I could purchase the Motorola Atrix from the United Sates of America, and then bring it over to Australia.
I was wondering if i use a Vodafone SIM on the imported Motorola Atrix - would it work?
Is there any sort of hardware/bandwidth issues?
