In Final Cut Pro can you log and capture a DVD without a DVD player?

Try this:

Explore the contents of your dvd (outside of Final Cut). Open up the video_ts folder and find the files in sequence named VTS_01_1.VOB for example. copy them to your hard drive. Rename the extension to mpg. So for example, VTS_01_1.mpg. Then try to import it into Final Cut Pro.
