In my world, religion and spirituality would be a strictly non-profit industry;

would you live in my world? See, in my world, it would be a capitalist society but it would be strictly regulated capitalism. There would be a simple rule; if your business/organization produces a product, then you can make a profit but if your business/organization produces no product, then you can’t make a profit and the only money you’d be allowed to keep is what I judge is the minimum required amount for living expenses. So, in my world, the money that organized religion, spiritual mediums, faith healers etc and even secular product-less organizations like banks and insurance companies, would not be allowed to make a profit. The money they take from my people is not theirs; it is my people’s money so therefore my people decide how it gets spent. Would you like to live in my world?

Problem: who says your definition of "product" is viable?
