In Super Mario World on the GBA, how do I exit a level that I have already completed?

On the SNES version. you would hit Start+Select

That doesn't seem to work on this version.
Exit (or save and quit) just quits the game =(
 
if you have beat the level you should be able to press start and go to quit or exit mission. i played the game not to long ago.
