...within 60 seconds? I am a 38 year old male. I'd say I have had pretty good health (at least physically) over the past 38 years of my life. I am on no medications.

1) I'd estimate this first happened ~ September 1, 2008. I was sitting alone in my office. Out of the blue, EXTREME, off-the-charts dizziness hits me and slowly wanes over ~ 60 seconds. I blew it off and didn't share this experience with anyone.

2) I'd estimate that Thanksgiving night (of 2008), most family had left, and I was sitting in a chair in the living room of my parents house just chatting with mom and dad. Again, this happens. For about the first 30 seconds, I say nothing and sit there as calmly as possible. Mom and dad do not notice anything odd and are carrying on conversation. ~ 30 seconds into this experience, I tell mom and dad what is going on. They do not seem concerned at all, and mom replies, "Oh that happens to your dad all the time. It's just vertigo." I think to myself, "This isn't at all how I envisioned vertigo (based upon what I have heard and read of vertigo)."

3) This morning (January 5, 2009), I was in the shower, and it hit again. ~ 30 seconds into this experience, I find myself amazed that I am standing, and not only standing but not even holding on to anything. It seemed mind-boggling that I could feel this intensity of dizziness and so abruptly and not fall or nearly fall while standing in a wet shower. With this being the 3rd time this happened, I am beginning to get concerned -- obviously still not concerned enough to go to the doctor, or I'd likely not be sharing this experience on Yahoo Answers.

This dizziness hits as abruptly as imaginable or even more than imaginable. There are no warnings it is coming at all. It is extremely intense but yet brief, lasting only ~ 60 seconds. As it occurred this morning, I recall looking down at my chest and thinking, "My God. I have never seen blood vessels as blue as that." Granted, I accept that I do not normally pay attention to the appearance of blood vessels, in myself or in others. Also, I accept that given that I'd just experienced something very alarming, I may have somewhat unkonowingly been looking for clues as to what may have just happened to me. However, I just now peered at my chest, and vessels are barely visible at all. It has been ~ 5 hours since the experience.

I understand that those who read this or reply to this may not be medical professionals and may even have very little medical knowledge at all as myself, but please, if you have any insight into what may be causing these experiences, please share.

Thanks.
