Interested in a career in marketing... trying to learn more about it?

Hello, I am a senior in high school and am trying to decide what career I should pursue. I find advertising, marketing, and public relations very interesting, and am trying to learn more about it. However, the articles I've read about it seems to not help me very much. Could anybody describe what exactly someone in the marketing, public relations, and advertising career fields do? Please do so in an easy-to-understand manner. Thanks in advance for any help you may give me.
