It has to be something thats valid to everyday life e.g effects of sugar-based gum on the pH of saliva
 
Well, I think that something on how a bit of rearranging molecules can cause sugar to have no calories. Or maybe why stevia is so much sweeter than sugar if you measure equal amounts. You can have an experiment and breakfast at the same time (you know...comparing the sweetness in otherwise identical bowls of cereal).
