Internet libel; specifically, regrettable comments made on someone else's blog?

Let's say I jump on the comments area of someone else's blog post and say, "Male Celebrity is a jerk because he beats up Female Celebrity!" Then I post. Then, later on, I realize I should have said "... because he ALLEGEDLY beats up..." But I can't edit the comment because it's not my blog, and I can't get in touch with the blogger. So I follow up with a second comment, posted directly beneath the first one. "I should've said *allegedly*. Oops."

Do I have anything to worry about as far as libel goes, or does the first comment have to be erased altogether?
