IOS 5 update 'Timed out error?'?

I have been trying to update my iPod 4g the last 2-3weeks. It keeps giving me this
Timed out Error when my connection is perfect. I have already updated my iTunes, and my safari..even the iCloud thing. Can somebody please help?..

-OH, and is it true that it give you a virus?
 
Download ur software from apple site using safari browser..den open iTunes, move ur mouse to restore button..hold shift and then right click on it nd click ios update.
After that it will load normally.
