iPhone 3 White Screen of Death covered under warranty?

I am the owner of a iPhone 3. I have dropped my iPhone as much as the rest of us have dropped our own phones. Recently (about Wednesday) I had it on my kitchen counter; while getting my food out of the microwave I elbowed it causing it to fall on my kitchen floor. My first thought was okay it's going to be fine you've dropped it before no big deal. Seeing as how I have had it for a year this February. Boy was I wrong. I hit the home button and at first it was a white screen with three lines. Then after awhile it fully went white... My question is; is even though I dropped my phone to accidentally cause the white screen of death does it still fall under the guidelines of the warranty? Also how long is the warranty good for?
