iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 upgrade?

My mom has an upgrade to her LG phone in July. My upgrade is in february next year. Can I take her upgrade and use it to get the new iPhone 4 once it comes out? I know it will renew her contract for another 2 years, and she is okay with that. Also, if I get the 16gb, will I only have to pay $199? Thanks!
 
Yes you will only have to pay $199 but you must switch phone numbers due to the fact that you are switching upgrades.
 
before you switch make sure you are in a 4g area. if your not its pointless and you still have to pay for the 4g.
