I recently had my service suspended while I was out of country. I still used my phone to get online at Wifi hotspots, games, music, etc. However the battery would react completely unpredictable. I would charge it for 8 hrs straight and on some days it would last an hour...other days it would last a few minutes. I assumed my battery was toast. However, when I reinstated my service plan the phone battery worked perfectly.
I recently upgraded to an iphone 4 so I gave my iPhone 3g to my daughter to use as an iTouch to play games and music. I removed the service plan and once again the battery is completely unpredictable. I assume the phone uses some sort of communication between the service provider and the phone which allows the battery to function properly? Is anyone aware of an app I can install to allow the battery to function normally for my daughter to use as a toy??
