iPhone OS 4 Wont Install On My iPod Touch 2G!?

Whenever I Try To Install iPhone OS 4 on My iPod Touch 2nd Generation 16GB It Will Always Get Stuck On "Backing Up iPod Touch" On The Computer And The Progress Bar Only Has I Bar And Will Not Fill Up Anymore. Ive Tried Everything, I Restarted My iPod, I Restarted iTunes, and I Even Restarted My Computer and It Still Will Not Work. Im using Windows XP and I Really Want iOS 4
 
Did you update your itunes to 9.2? Or else I don't know what else you could do.The backing up part takes FOREVER on my ipod touch. But trust me you want to back it up or else everything will be deleted. Itunes is very slow, I wish they would work on it or something!!!!!!!
