So I bought my first ipod recently and plugged it into the computer (I have windows vista not a mac if that makes a difference). The thing is, it usually comes up with the 'connected' screen but not the charging battery screen where the green battery fills up the entire screen. It has had the charging screen once or twice but I don't know what triggers it...it's been in the same usb port. And it still charges regardless but sometimes the songs don't get uploaded on the ipod even though they come up on iTunes as 'recently added'...
Any help will be much appreciated!

Remember to open iTunes so that your iPod will sync automatically.
If you disabled that automatic setting, then you will have to sync your device manually.

Syncing your iPod and charging it are two different things; Syncing updates iPod with new media that you may have added, or changes the Recently Played list.

Keeping iPod connected to your computer via USB cable will always recharge the batteries regardless.
