hello Y/A i am looking into getting an itouch and have a few questions about bluetooth. i have NEVER used bluetooth so i know it connects things to things =P but what does it do? what is the range of blutooth? can i leave my phone in my bedroom and use headsets all around the house? decent sized house around 3000sq ft

and what can i use with the itouch? there are bluetooth keyboards can i use those? headsets? umm what other bluetooth items are there please if you can give a short list. and is that bluetooth projector real? does it work with ipod?

also i would LOVE to be able to put pics from my camera right onto my ipod is there such a thing as a bluetooth SD thing? were i put my camera SD card in it and sync with bluetooth and get the pics on ipod?

other then that what does bluetooth enable when your connecting two ipods? can you like have a chat type thing? i heard you could play games could you play games with wifi aswell? when you play games using bluetooth with your friends do they need the game or does it work like the Nintendo DS were some games they dont need to have but if you have you can both play?

HUGE ramble thank you for taking the time to read and answer
have a good day
john.
hahaha thanks blake huge help. so are the keyboards a no go you think?

Ok I will try to answer your questions as fully as possible. First off apple's firmware has walls. This means the capabilities of the device at limited. Therefore this already eliminates you camera picture transfer idea, which you can do but not with Bluetooth and only if you transfer the pictures to your computer then into iTunes and then onto your iPod. This also eliminates the possibility of the Bluetooth projector which wouldn't even be feasable if they do exist because Bluetooth has only a current transfer rate of like 3.0 megabits per second I believe, which is fast enough to play music over Bluetooth by not display a full screen view. Don't get me wrong I know there's one for a cellphone, I've seen the commercial but idk if it's Bluetooth and even so it would not work with the iPod touch.
Next for music and distance: the distance depends and Bluetooth is easily interfered. You can listen to music over Bluetooth in he same room but once you leave you may experience static. Also wifi can interfere with Bluetooth unless the device you are using says otherwise in the specs. So yes you could use Bluetooth in your house through at least most of it but walls and other communications do interfere with it.
Lastly yes iPod touches can play games over bluetooth. No you must both have the game. Yes you can chat over it too. Bluetooth range is about 100 ft which is approximately what I achieved while playing hockey in a mostly open area, by slowly moving away from my friend. This was however without walls and other sources of interference.
Hope this helps I may be able to post mire later if you need.
