is a 2001 VW Beetle a good car?

i read some articles and they said it burns alot of oil really quick....the people i might buy it from say it is a good car and they change the oil every 5000 miles i dont know it has about 91000 miles on it can someone tell me it it is wort 7000 to 6500 dollars?it is in good condition no dents or scratches
