...shape a good price? I ask b/c I am planning on buying my first car soon and will be paying cash for it as i don't want a car note. I like the 2004-06 style Galants. To me its a timeless body style that will always look current. I know they are good cars. i have my eye on a red 2004 model with 78,000 miles in good shape for sale by original owner. This person brought in new in 04 so its 6 yrs old and they have shown me carfax, and they recently put new oil, new tires, and also a new light bulbs in it. Is this a good buy. I truly dont want a note and wanna pay cash for a decent older but current looking car.

You can check what the price should be buying from a dealer or an invididual. I have two 2004 Hondas that may run forever.
How are the brakes in this car? Shocks? Look online and see if it has any typical glitches, such as tie rod problems, etc. I would take it to a good reliable LOCAL auto mechanic, and ask what he thinks may "show up" in the next 10,000 miles or so.
Also, I would ask for a new 6-yr. battery if I were buying it. That should be the next thing to 'go'. Don't let them talk you into a 24-mo. battery!!!
I wouldn't buy just because it is pretty!
