Is a digital copy of a game better than a DVD?

I'm talking about PC gaming in particular. Is a digital copy from Steam for example, better than the hard copy DVD because with the digital copy, you don't need the disc but with the DVD you have to insert the disc every time you want to play. Is my assumption correct?

Well its on the individual choice.

Digital is better. You have less mess in your office or desk. But if you like to collect the box and the booklet you might want the hard copy.

It's much better, as the disc can't get scratched as there is no disc!
