Is a home theater receiver like these good for strictly music?

I want to strictly use a receiver for music. I have a sony powered subwoofer, and 5 bookshelf speakers. Would the pioneer vsx-820-k be good or the sony str-dh510. If not then what can i use that has a subwoofer pre-out and 5 channels for my bookshelf speakers. Help!! Also one that has bass and treble controls. Please must be under $200.
