Is Atheism a religion?

If it is not, is it protected under the constitution that gives us "freedom of religion"?

Freedom of religion gives the freedom to have no religion as well.

I dare you to use google to find a dictionary definition of 'religion' that applies to atheism but not all other groups of people (take the Boy Scouts for instance).
 
No, Atheism is not a religion. But like the person above me said, the First Amendment not only gives you freedom to practice your religion freely, it allows us to have a freedom to not worship any mythical creature.
 
Atheism has nothing to do with religion. It simply describes a lack of belief in any god. There is such thing as religious Atheists: Such as Buddhists, Taoists, Jains, Pagans..

Freedom of religion does, however, also provide freedom from religion.

It is as much a religion as "not collecting stamps" is a hobby. Atheism describes what someone does not believe in, not what he does believe in
