A lot of atheists go out of their way to try convince people God is not real etc , there are many internet celebs who are known for trying to turn people against God and try convince how God could not be real.

Such people are like unholy prophets . It seems atheism is becoming a belief system of unbelief in God ;)

Is Atheism considered a religion?.......Only by ignorant fundies that distort dictionary definitions and have to make everything about religion. Besides, "atheism" (other then a made up word) IS NOT a doctrine of beliefs. It is about NON-belief...the non-belief in any and all gods. That's it. Period.

It has always be closely linked to religion, since it is defined by unbelief of such...

Of course they would argue that since they don't meet or have any sort of congregated membership... that they are in fact, not a religion.

* Dragons
* Elves
* Leprechauns
* Spirits
* Demons
* Magic
* Pixies
* Sea monsters

Until you--and those like you--can come up with credible, tangible, concrete evidence that ANY 'god' exists, expect to be challenged by those of us who don't believe.

How can unbelief become a belief system. How many hoops do you have to jump through in order to make no religion into a religion? Atheism has no beliefs, dogmas, deities, prohibitions, requirements, rituals, iconography, places of worship or anything else associated with religion. So how is that a religion?
