im 13, i am a strict catholic (christianity) and i have an interest for other religions (no one in particular). i in no way intend to convert to any other religion and definitly will not, but in asking questions about their practices (other religions like hindu/seek...) , am i performing a sin in the eyes of the christian god? please do not leave junk, this is a serious matter, and i would b so insulted if i were purposely misguided, please collect your info before answering.

Being interested no, but believing and worshiping two religions is.

God is the only God.

GOD BLESS! AMEN! SHALOM!

No, it is not a sin.

God (any god) wants us to learn in order to be the best we can be. Catholic High Schools and Universities teach courses on understanding other religions, do they not? Why not talk to your priest about it - surely he will tell you to learn as much as you can about the world you are living in.

You will also see, for example, the Pope reach out to other religions and religious leaders. Without understanding them, this cannot be done.

It is important to learn about as much as you can, to function well in this great and complex world. If somebody/group/institution tells you that you cannot learn about something, be very, very cautious and get away/get out.

You say you are a strict Catholic, but you will not truly be one until/unless you have chosen that path yourself, based on understanding all paths and finding Catholocism the right and best one. Thne you will come from a place of strength rather than the place of fear where you now reside.

Be open and Learn!!

I Know Everyone Who Is Not A Believer Is Going To Try To Get You Out Of Christianity...so You Need To Follow Your Heart. There Are Too Many People Who Like To Blame A God That They Don't Even Believe, For All Of Their Crappy Choices And Mistakes In Life. Don't Let It Bring You Down =]

Read the Bible dude...it is full of people who let themselves be open and then are debased from God. You are just asking simple questions and what not, but you have to examine yourself. Asking questions is not bad at all, that is how scholars becomes scholars! However, it can certainly distort your perspective of who God is. Say, for example, you start to study evolutionary/big bang thinking then you start to put God in the questioning room. You study up on all the nihilistic and existential thought, you start to feel like live is perhaps without meaning. I am not saying that it is a complete sin, but it can be very counterproductive to what God wants for your life.
