Is being Jewish about the ethnicity or religion?

I think it is both.
But since Arabs are the best experts in Talmud, it will be interesting to know what Arabs think about it? Jews not need to reply.

I'm Jew-ISH.
My father's side of the family is Jewish, but I personally have no religious beliefs. I still say I'm a Jew though, just based on ethnic background.
