Is Buddhism combined with martial arts training a good idea ?

Is it a good idea? How to put this...

Is putting catsup on your french fries a good idea? It might satisfy you, but it's not necessary, and certainly won't satisfy everyone.

It doesn't have a direct effective relation to martial arts -- it doesn't make you more focused, but you might become more focused because you believe yourself to be. Any effect will be purely psychological.

If you want to study Buddhism, do so because Buddhism is something worthwhile in your life, not because you want it to make you better at something else. I come from a wealthy area where a lot of people I've known have lost fortunes in business dealings. And when they do, they go to church thinking, "If I'm just a good christian, God will bring wealth back into my life." They're going for deluded and selfish reasons -- not because they believe in or have a love for God, but because they want their money back. If you're going to join a temple to become a better martial artist, are you really any different?

Yes of course, Martial arts is not just a fighting art but a way of life. Its combination of physical, mental and spiritual development of human being. It helps to develop inner strengths. so i strongly believe buddhism help student train better !!
