About a month and a half ago we had our car reposed. We actually paid the car off after they had told us they were repossessing but they said they still had to give them the car for one week as a punishment i guess. They were very rude to us saying we were hiding the car when the car was being used and when we were home it was in our garage just like anyone else would put it. we never received phone calls or anyone coming to the house. we were out and about to different places and no one ever stopped us or told us that we had a repossession. so i don't know why they were making these accusations. when we found out they were repossessing due to a late payment a few months ago, we came up with the full payment to pay it off and were very cooperative with them coming to pick the car up anyway we waited the week and nothing happened from there. we then got a call saying that the person who repossessed the car must have banged it up because it had a crack on the side and the bumper was messed up. so they asked if we would like Honda to fix it due to it being their mistake. we said yes. they said they would call us when it was ready. a couple weeks later we called to see when we'd be getting our car back and they said they didn't have any updates on what was going on with the car. They told us they would call back. we called a few days later and finally they said that there was recalls on the car and that they had to repair the recalls. again that they would call us back when it was ready or they had an update. it's been a month and a half and we haven't gotten any other answers. last time we called a couple days ago it was the same story that there wasn't any updates. my husband told them we were calling a lawyer and they told him do what you want. Is it normal for it to take this long to repair it? i know it depends on the severity of the damage done by the person who repossessed it but we went from you'll get it in one week to now going on 2 months. My family seems to think they sold it and are just trying to keep us from hiring a lawyer. we are talking with a lawyer willing to do it for no pay right away but I have never heard of anything like this happening. please help!
I appreciate the fast answer! No, we did not talk to the lender in person. the money was sent to them. My husband called to confirm the payment went through and they said yes. we have not received the title which i felt was odd but wasn't sure where to go from there. This is the first brand new car we had bought so this whole situation is confusing to me.
