This wasn't a non biased argument, my social teacher is a Christian and when we're working on the computers once or twice she has gotten on the topic, and she tries to argue that God is real with me and I tell her that it's irrational to devote yourself to one religious system when there are so many, all having the same amount of proof which is none.

Is that unprofessional for her to do?

In public school? She isn't allowed to do this. In private school anything goes.

Unless she outright insulted you or your views, no I don't think so. Why shouldn't a teacher be honest about his/her opinion, just as you were honest about yours? There's no reason why debate shouldn't exist in the classroom - in my religion class, all we ever did was debate different issues and topics. I don't believe that it's unprofessional at all. Also, you imply that the argument was only biased on her side because she is a Christian - did it ever occur to you that your lack of religious belief could've biased your argument as well? Think about it.

Bottom line is: no, I don't think a teacher disagreeing with a student is unprofessional, unless she was as I said insulting your opinion or forcing her views down your throat.
