Wearing a poppy & remembering the many people who gave their lives in 2 world wars so that morons like you can live in freedom is nothing to do with the BNP.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.

The Poppy is a symbol to remember those who fought againt dictatorship, and to give people freedom to carry on their lives, within the law.
I am sure you enjoy your freedom of speech and although I do not agree with your sentiments, agree your freedom to speak out.
Ialso agree that if you don't like a country that has such freedom, you are again free, to catch a plane or boat to another country, that doesn't have freedom, and invite your friends with you. But be careful, one of them may have trained with your other idol Jamal, and have some similar ideas whilst you are travelling (I hope)

I don't think any of your answers are BNP-esque. They're all very moderate and middle-ground. Everybody in Britain knows what a poppy is all about, even the dumbest chavvy 15 year old bint pushing her two babies down the street to collect her benefits knows. So you're, basically, *really really really* ignorant, and people are just amazed you can be so ignorant.

Sorry.

No. The first poppy day was in 1921.

I find it strange that the wearing of the poppies starts on the BBC before the things are on sale to the public. I suppose they bring the same ones out every year. It seems to be compulsory.

I remember that you could only get them in November and they were worn during the week of Armistice day.

Don't be so disrespectful by calling them "gay"!!

They are worn to remember all our lost fighters for the country in any war!! Its been "Remembrance Day" on the 11.11.10 and they are worn as a sign of respect for our brave soldiers both of old wars and the current war.

If you have a problem GO SOMEWHERE ELSE MATE!!!

R.i.p Our Brave Hero's.

Are you British? Then why the hell do you not know about Remembrance Day, 11th November for the past 89 years or so.

People have been wearing poppies on November 11th since 1921.

Read about it here and learn something http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_Day
