Is it dumb for people to pay for expensive cell phones & plans?

Seriously, it makes no sense to go buy the newest iphone or android when all you do is work at some job that pay's less than $10 an hour. Or even if you make more than that, why should you get a blackberry if it's not buisness related? All your going to do is text,take pics and record little videos! Oh i know what your thinking, "but i can dowload songs,browse the internet better and it has more memory!" Yea, it does stupid, but for what? Just so you can text your BF or GF "hey , what r u doing"
'' Why pay that horrible fee for internet when you can just wait to use your own computer, i myself can afford an expensive cell phone but i choose not to because it's ridiculous how all i'll use it for is texting,calling and taking pics. I have my ipod to listen to music so it's dumb to get a phone with music downloads on it. What do you guys think?

you are so right on everything that you just mention is just that people want to be in style so every month when a new phone come there they go trying to upgrade and trying to sell the old phone that they only had for about a month or so just to get the newest phone before their buddys get it
