When I grow vegetables in the Summer, I refuse to use pesticides. I'm tired of buying veggies in the store and they are coated with a thick layer of grease, pesticides, and other unknown substances.

Are there any benefits of eating fresh home grown veggies instead of those found in stores? Is there a benefit to eating them raw? ..... I like eating raw veggies :)

Yes, when you eat fresh, raw vegetables they haven't gone thru any processes that destroy the nutrition yet, so they would be healthier. Also, many vegetables have a high amount of nutritional value in the peelings.

Benefits of eating home grown = fresher, you know what went chemicals went on them, everything about their growing conditions.

Benefits to eating raw = cooking veggies can destroy some of the nutrients/vitamins that are in them. But just be careful, as without cooking it you won't kill all the bacteria and nasties that might be on your plant
