Is it healthy to eat 1200 calories AND workout that same day?

I am trying to lose weight so I am trying to eat healthy and workout. I ate about 1200 calories today and I worked out. Is that okay, because then I know that my body would be running off of less than 1200 calories, and I know thats the least amount of calories someone is supposed to eat.

Is it bad that I only at 1200 calories and burned 500 of them off?
 
Nah, make sure you give your body a break though. When I was losing weight I aimed for 1000-1300 Cal's a day plus as long as possible in the gym. If you can stick to this diet you will be there in no time.

Make sure you get your RDI for all essential vitamins and nutrients. Skip carbs completely and increase your protein uptake. You will feel tired as for a while, then your body will adjust to the lower needs and fat will be burnt.
