I have a ford festiva ice racing car, and i have a friend with a snowmobile trailer. he is the only person who can haul it for me, is it illegal to haul my car on a snowmobile trailer.

A two place snowmobile trailer isn't designed to haul much weight. Today's heaviest utility sleds weigh around 800 pounds with a full fuel tank. Older machines and sport sleds weigh less. A stock 1992 Festiva weighs about 1,800 pounds. I don't know how much you have lightened your car for racing. Look on the trailer frame for a plate with the serial number and specs. It should have the load capacity. My guess is that your car is heavier that the trailer is rated for but not by much. Your friend has to decide if he wants to risk damaging the trailer by overloading it. Do you know any landscapers who haul a tractor? Those trailers will easily handle your race car.

I don't see anything illegal about it. I don't even think there's a law of any kind saying what you can't haul a car with, heck one time I pulled my Honda Civic out of a pot hole using my uncle's tractor. Though the only think that I will worn you about though is that when you're hauling a car, make sure you hook it up right, if not parts of the car (like the back bumper) can be pulled out by accident if not done properly (this happened to a friend once :)
