is it necessary to ride your bike fast?

im planning to get a bike, maybe a 250 or a 600. but wherever i see, bikers are riding super fast and dangerous and whizzing thru traffic. i wan't to ride safe, im not trying to prove anything to anyone.

then why does everyone ride their bike at 200 Kph on the highway? i mean is it useless riding a bike at a safe speed?
