Is it normal for a Blackberry to take so long to power up ?

I have the blackberry style (the one that flips) and it takes FOREVER just to turn on after I put the battery back in. I've heard of other blackberrys w/ the same problem such as the curve or bold. Is there something wrong w/ the phone or is that just what blackberrys do? It seems unreal sometimes how long it takes to turn on !
