Is it okay to store DVD's and Tapes in a garage in cold weather?

I am getting ready to move and so I am packing things up in boxes and trying to store as much as possible in the garage. Will storing tapes and DVDs in the garage damage them in any way?

We're in Michigan and it gets quite cold obviously.
 
as far as i now cold weather will not damage a dvd unless you put it out in the snow or something like that.. because when dvd are shipped they are not in climate controlled trucks so im pretty sure they hit their fair share of cold weather with out getting damaged
