Is it possible that I damaged my motorbike?

I just got a new bike (Suzuki RG150) and it's been working absolutely awesomely. I took it out into town today for the second time and I noticed that I needed to touch up on getting into first gear faster, because of the fast traffic. Takes me like 2 or 3 secs to get going. So I went out onto my street and decided to practice getting into first. I have a long street and I did much better getting into gear that usual. So I kept going down the street and being a bit cocky I decided to rev it hard (not red line it) and go as fast as I could up and down the street. I did nothing wrong in this part.
It's just that a couple of times I changed it into neutral instead of second and it revved reeeeally high, way above the red line, but only for a flash because I noticed it and let it drop back down to normal revs instantly. This happened twice I think. I don't even know for certain that anything's wrong with it but when I did a few more racing-style runs up and down the street I noticed that the revs didn't drop off as much when I went up to second and up to third. It doesn't sound like it's revving as much as it should. like I rev it up to the red line which is 13k, and it just didn't sound as grunty as it used to at 13k. Also when riding it the rev counter jumped a couple of times. And lastly, when I rev it in neutral, just quickly up to about 12k, I can hear a quiet but noticeable tap tap tap sound like twice every second maybe.
It may just be me being paranoid, because I can't say for certain that anything is actually different. Do you think that really nasty accidental rev in neutral could have done something to it? Pulled the rev counter cable or something like that? (Excuse my noobiness :P)

Thanks a heap.
two stroke btw
