Is it possible to be a good Muslim and believe in equal treatment for people

of all religions.? By equal treatment I mean no Zakat (tax only applicable to non Muslims), the right to build and maintain temples, the right to openly display religious symbols, and equal weight given to their testimony in court, even if testifying against a Muslim.

By all religions I mean Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Daoists, everyone irrespective of them being "people of the book".

Could someone believing this be a good Muslim or would they be seen as going against the words of Muhammad?

Good point, I should have included atheists. As well as people of all religions would someone who thought that atheists should be given equal status be considered a good Muslim?

This would include being allowed to express their beliefs and not be subject to any penalties.

Yes, tax only on non-Muslims is part of their belief, though I used the wrong term. It is called the Jizya

Please read the questions. I said *all* religions. Why do you think that Christians and Jews have to pay Jizya under Sharia law?
 
What about us atheists? I suppose we have nor rights do we. I mean we are all evil and wrong and deserve to die ?

If you want any respect for you beliefs then you have to give respect for others, including atheists!

no tax only Zakat about 2.5% annually and Gezya for none Muslim it's like a deal to teach someone something or pay something , because none Muslim are excluded from Army .

According the the Qr an, you must strive to exterminate other beliefs to be a "good" muslim. So no.

I think that every muslim knows that in the Muslim countries their is not equality between the Muslims on one side and Christians and Jews or other religions or non religions on the other side. I believe that a Muslim murdering Christian in Muslim countries should not stand the court. This above the extra tax
 
During the height of the Ottoman Empire, Muslims were in general more tolerant. Maybe, it is easier to be more tolerant were you are more powerful, or possibly, give this a thought, you become more powerful by being more tolerant.
