Is it worth getting a blue ray for my 720p 50in plasma?

I purchased a panasonic (tc-p50x1) 50 in plasma. it is only 720p (thats all i could afford at the time) and I am now wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade my dvd player (non upscaling) to a blueray?Or is it just a waste of money since i only have the 720? Or maby just get an upscaling dvd player? I'm no tech guy, so any help here would be great. thanks
 
720 isn't the complete issue. If there are movies that are only available on Blu-Ray, then you will need Blu-Ray to play them. Besides, you won't have this TV forever.
 
tbh im not a tech gguy either but i would say dont get a blue ray is you aint gonna get the most out of it with 1080 if you get me . I would recommend getting a cinema kit instead . chheaper then a blu ray but looks really good when set up properly next to your tv .
