Is my home theater a lost cause? (Buzzing in all speakers)?

I have a very cheap 5.1 Koss system that I purchased in 2005. It has been a fairly good system for the price I spent on them but I turned the system on the other day and there was very loud buzzing in all of the speakers and the subwoofer. I have been working on it all night trying to find out what the problem is. After a lot of troubleshooting I eventually unhooked everything and plugged just the sub woofer, receiver, and one speaker into a separate outlet in my apartment and they are still buzzing. I have read many other questions on here relating to buzzing in speakers and I tried everything that the responses said to do.

This all started a couple of nights go when my friend brought over his 360 and hooked it up to my tv. When I turned on my surround sound, that is when I first started to hear the buzzing. I unhooked everything and after everything was back to the way it was, it was still doing it.

Does anyone have a solution to this or do you think I should just purchase a new system? A friend of mine may be able to give me his old system for free and it is a lot better than the one I have now. I just can't see it being anything else seeing how I unhooked everything but the receiver and the sub, plugged them into a separate plug and they still made the buzzing noise. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
My system is a Koss KS3161. After reading reviews on the product, I guess I should be surprised that it lasted almost 5 years.
