Ok, so I'm writing a novel and I'm 3/4 the way complete when I ran into a slight dilemma...I'm not quite sure what Fiction sub-genre (if any) my story belongs to. So I will give you a quick look-see at what elements I have:

-The use of a magic system
-The story takes place in far future (3050 to be exact)
-space travel
-fictional creatures/races
-advanced technology
-defiance of known natural laws

I know this might seem quite odd that the author doesn't know the exact genre of her own story, BUT I only ask because I've never read any sci-fi books, so I'm not sure if this is just fiction with futuristic elements...or sci-fi in the making.

Another reason why I ask is because I don't want any sci-fi enthusiasts to hound me for writing a bad sci-fi book...when that wasn't really my aim to begin with!
In response to stmichaeldet response:

I was writing this work based on a source that many might not be familiar with to begin with, that source is Japanese style RPGs (fantasy/adventure) like the Star Ocean series, which has 90% sci-fi elements, and %10 magic (fantasy). I have played plenty to know exactly what I am aiming to write, HOWEVER in the book world, a clearer classification is required, that is why I posted this question, to figure out where it best falls. Perhaps I should have asked if it is Fantasy, or Sci-fi, but based on the answers thus far, I'd probably say this is a cross-genre novel.

That is about as sci-fi as any book is going to get, frankly. It practically screams sci-fi. I'm a little perplexed that you could ever have thought a book with the elements you list could ever even be close to 'general fiction'.

sci fi is what i would say, but it can be what any genre you want it to be just by making a few adjustments
