theres nothing wrong with having faith, ever since man could think and walk he could go through life not knowing that it was worthless, and not knowing what came at the end of it, then enters religion, i am a nihilist and i say it is a sign of weakness because if people have to go through life praying to a god that may not exist-just because they cant accept the fact that our time on this planet was a freak of universal nature.
and i will tell you one thing-god doesnt love me, i am of the tribe of gods unwanted children and thats just fine with me,so dont nobody get all preachy with me telling me that he loves me and he is waiting for me to open up to him, cuz i never will

yes they can be manipulated by those they give authority to.
best examples are suicide bombers. I would bet my aunt fanny you will not find an atheist on planet earth that would strap on a back pack full of explosives. being manipulated is a sign of weakness .
the things a weak mind will do for 72 imaginary virgins .

If you take a jar of different things such as little houses and cars shake them up and throw them out on the floor what are the chances of them landing in place the way you want. It probably will be impossible. The universe is so unique. Everything is in perfect place. How can that be a freak of nature?

Agreed, religion = weakness

People hide behind their religions so much that it does make me wonder. Our time on Earth is short and some people just have to extend it even if that means believing and possibly wasting your life on an imaginary god.

Humans are inherently religious. Humans are indeed weak. We are finite beings. What planet are you on?

How can you speak of things that you know nothing of? Christian's no about being a non-christian, because we were all once a non- christian, so we can speak of living a life without the Lord, but you, you can only speculate, and speculation doesn't even hold up in a court of law.
Being a Christian is not a sign of weakness, for it takes more strength and courage to be a Christian than most people have in there little finger. You think it is easy to be persecuted by people like you and all unbeliever's, to be called a Jesus freak, a fudie, and all the other names that is known by man, just because we believe in Jesus. it seems to me the world would like that, because at least we are trying to be good law abiding people. While yet not everyone who say they are a Christian are. For Jesus said, "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those that do the will of the Father." So do you know who is and who is not?
When Christianity first began, people were burned, fed to lion's, beheaded, burned in oiled, crucified, fa laid, sawn into and it still goes on today. For Jesus said, "If they hated and despised me and persecuted Me, how much more will they (the

everybody needs something or someone to believe in, and it takes more courage to have faith than to deride religion altogether just because you are afraid it might not exist.

Did you know there's an inverse correlation between religiousness and intelligence?

I think so, if you have to have a big sugar daddy in the sky looking after you in order to get through the day.....

Aw, freak is such a strong word. *insert dripping sarcasm*
seriously though, religion is a sign of weakness because it shows that people can't take responsibility for themselves. something happens, they blame it on either someone else, or an act of their so-called "god". people need to think and take responsibilities for their own mistakes and actions.

Weakness is perhaps true for some people, but not the majority.

Certainly it's a sign of lazy thinking, or lack of imagination. I suspect these are the real reasons for religious faith.

Oh, and all out lunacy as well ;-)

There are people who have everything they need and don't fear death, but still believe in a religion. I think this question is ridiculous, it is like asking if atheism is a sign of blindness.

I wish people would not call our Lord a sugar daddy in the sky, as does he not know that God chastens those He loves?
